  36.  here's the programs you need to set up a network between your PC and amiga
  37. I have two PC's for rendering and they both save their frames to my amiga
  38. drive where the arexx wait for clip then grabs the frames in sequence and
  39. imports them to my flyer.
  40. you need Amitcpip ver 4.0 for the amiga plus a program called samba the
  41. samba program is the program that allows your amiga drives to show up in the
  42. file manager on your NT system. On the PC you just have to get the TCP part
  43. of NT's network running.I believe the wait for clip arrexx is on Newteks ftp
  44. site if not I can send it to you it was written by John Crookshank at
  45. microtek it works great!
  46. There is a problem with samba if you crash either machine (PC or amiga) you
  47. have to reboot them both as samba willnot hook backup until you do. The
  48. other problem I encountered was samba will only connect to one PC at a time,
  49. not a problem if you only have one PC but as I said I have two and use
  50. screamernet for rendering as I also want to save the frames from both PC's
  51. to my amiga, but samba won't let me hook up to the amiga from my 2nd PC. The
  52. first thing I tried was sharing the amiga drive in file manager so I could
  53. import it into my 2nd PC but NT does not allow it! The only way I was able
  54. to solve the problem is I also have mutiple amiga's and there on the enlan
  55. network so I exported the amiga drive across the enlan network to my other
  56. amiga then I ran another amitcp and another samba on my other amiga as well
  57. which then exported the imported amiga drive across the network to my second
  58. PC so it could save frame's to the same amiga drive as my first PC...wheeew
  59. I gotta stop now finger cramps.
